Kobu.Com provides a Java programming guide for Mifare RFID contactless cards and ACR120 card reader from ACS. This digital book is written in English and published through Kopu.Biz Entertainment, a Kobu.Com's publishing unit. This book is based on a technical training course offered by Kobu.Com.
This book introduces lots of Java sample programs for accessing Mifare smart cards through an ACR120 reader. See details below.
The book is currently available from the sales channels listed on the right.
One of the reasons of publishing this book is to experiment distribution of one content in different file formats through different sales channels.
The following table shows differences in reading experience caused by different delivery formats. The price is in the same range regardless of the channel or format (around US$10).
| Channel | Device | Format | TOC | Index | Search | Status | Remark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AppStore | iPad | HTML | Yes | Yes | No | On sale | Bundled in Kobu.Com Web contents viewer |
| Amazon | Kindle | AZW | Yes | Yes | Yes | On sale | Also available on iPad and PC with Kindle reader software |
| iBooks | iPad | Epub | Yes | No | Yes | On sale |
Apple iPhone and iPod Touch are not supported due to difficulty in presenting sample code in a small screen.
As a memento for publishing the book, I provide a utility program, to readers and every one, for examining and calculating access control information of Mifare Classic or Standard RFID ICs (Mifare 1K/4K/Mini, etc.). More technically it calculates access conditions of a sector trailer in Mifare classical sector format.
The ZIP file below includes a Windows executable program, mfmod.exe. The details of Mifare sector format and access conditions are described in the book. The C source code of this program is provided in the book.
